The FastChar setup is a compact box that includes all the necessary instrumentation to perform accurate transient and static measurements with little noise.
-
A function generator with low output impedance provides different voltage pulses without adding significant resistance.
-
The voltage is recorded with an oscilloscope with a built-in display.
-
Includes a variable resistance box (22 different resistances from 0.1 Ohm - 1 MOhm) to fine-tune the resolution of the measurement at hand.
-
Low-pass RC-filters smooth the signal.
-
The compactness of the setup allows to use it with a solar simulator in a glovebox, or in a lab in combination with LEDs or LASERs for various electro-optical measurements.
-
Ready-to-use. Connect your solar cell to 2 outgoing BNC cables and start the measurements (plug and play).

The Software

A simple user interface programmed in Python allows you to automate each measurement type, and to access a customizable, wide time range to visualize charge transport and recombination processes on different time scales. The software also evaluates your measurement and saves the graphical output. Each measurement has various features:

-
Perform preset routines and data evaluation for each measurement.
-
Align each measurement with 1-click to visualize the transients on the oscilloscope prior to measuring a routine.
-
Take screenshots of the screen and plot any data at any point.
-
Evaluate previous measurements.
